Ricoh Mirai - 1988 AF Bridge SLR - This post. There's not a lot of information on this camera, at least that I could find in fairly intensive searching (e.g., Camerapedia has only -wiki.org/wiki/Ricoh_Mirai ). One Ricoh page on some of their 35mm cameras is available at -ag.ch/ricoh/35mm/ , which seems difficult to get to from any directly available home page. My older copy of McKeown's Cameras has only a very few of the many cameras made by this company, and nothing at all on the Mirai. This camera's name is Mirai (??) which, it seems, is Japanese for "future." This first Mirai was a "bridge" SLR, maybe one of the first, even. The earliest reference I can find to the idea of 'bridge cameras' seems to be in 1988 ( _camera , =24768530:24768530&FMT=ABS&FMTS=ABS:FT&date=Apr+29%2C+1988&author=Sandy+Colton%2C+Associated+Press+Newsfeatures&pub=Chicago+Tribune+%28pre-1997+Fulltext%29&desc=NEW+BRIDGE+CAMERAS+OFFER+PERKS+TO+NOVICE+AND+PRO+ALIKE&pqatl=google ). The Ricoh camera mentioned in the abstract of this source, however, was a Ricoh FF-7 (a P&S viewfinder camera), not the Mirai. The Olympus AZ-4 is a near twin of the Ricoh Mirai, having been co-developed and marketed separately. According to Wikipedia (no references given), this version appeared in the 1989 Batman film. The service manual (available at _manual/olympus/35_mm_point-and-shoot/az-4_zoom.html ) for it is essentially identical to the Ricoh manual except for the omission of a number of minor features (and many tables and so on available in the Ricoh manual), but not on the Olympus. Ricoh only features are such as an electric remote cord, different batteries, and a few other minor differences. The outward appearance is also slightly different, with a decided SLR bump on the Mirai, where that has been combined into the top cover of the AZ-4 (see the illustrations of the same page from the two manuals). (compare the two cameras in the page below from the respective manuals).
These cameras predate the (widespread use of) the internet, so it's rather hard to find reliable information. I must still have the original Dutch manual, so please don't hesitate if you have further questions although I will need some time to find the manual.
On 21 October 2016, multiple major DDoS attacks in DNS services of DNS service provider Dyn occurred using Mirai malware installed on a large number of IoT devices, many of which were still using their default usernames and passwords. These attacks resulted in the inaccessibility of several high-profile websites, including GitHub, Twitter, Reddit, Netflix, Airbnb and many others. The attribution of the Dyn attack to the Mirai botnet was originally reported by Level 3 Communications.
On January 17, 2017, computer security journalist Brian Krebs, also known as "0x150" online, posted an article on his blog, Krebs on Security, where he disclosed the name of the person who he believed to have written the malware. Krebs stated that the likely real-life identity of Anna-senpai (named after Anna Nishikinomiya, a character from Shimoneta), the author of Mirai, was actually an Indian-American Paras Jha, the owner of a DDoS mitigation service company ProTraf Solutions and a student of Rutgers University. In an update to the original article, Paras Jha responded to Krebs and denied having written Mirai. The FBI was reported to have questioned Jha on his involvement in the October 2016 Dyn cyberattack. On December 13, 2017, Paras Jha, Josiah White, and Dalton Norman entered a guilty plea to crimes related to the Mirai botnet.
This Toyota baby also promises superior handling stability achieved by a low center of gravity along with powerful acceleration, thanks to the electric motor. It also gets an exclusive telematics service for a safe, secure and comfortable ride. Interestingly, the Toyota Mirai can also be used as a high-capacity external power supply system during power outages, disasters and other emergencies.
The keyword for the service is AI (artificial intelligence). Tokyo-based Open8, providing the LeTronc video magazine and some video ad network services, earlier this month launched the AI-powered video creating SaaS (software as a service) named Video Brain. It charges 150,000 yen (about $1,300) monthly, in addition to requiring an annual contract for allowing users to create 20 videos a month maximum.
There were already similar services for video creation, but users had to input materials manually and edit the text themselves. The platform eliminated the need for all of these processes. As I took a look at the demonstration, it seemed fantastic that all materials were uploaded just by drag-and-drop and then a video was created by one-click only. The firm began test operation targeting enterprise users this June; it is used for creating video material for news in a major newspaper company or employee training video / sales proposal materials in a restaurant chain.
What matters here is the quality of created products. To be honest, the platform cannot do everything. As Open 8 CEO Yukou Takamatsu mentioned, this service has works in and out of its line. It is good at video creation in which atmosphere is valued such as image video advertisement but weak at video editing in which strict content is required such as business manuals. However, Takamatsu said that he aims to change the communication of enterprises by launching this solution:
